I began training as a counsellor in 2013 after experiencing difficulties with my own emotional wellbeing in my teens and twenties. I'd spent the last 10 years working in a variety of environments; all with the common theme of supporting people, on both a practical and emotional level. As a result, I'd developed an understanding of my own struggles and a growing desire to use that knowledge and experience to help others.
Moving into private practice was a challenge but it allowed me the freedom to work with clients in a tailored, individual manner.
Throughout my life I've had a passion for horses and in 2011 I was introduced to Natural Horsemanship which opened my eyes to the relational element between horse and human. Coming as this did, at the same time as my counselling training, I began to see connections between horsemanship and the relational nature of therapy. These two aspects of my life have dovetailed further over the years leading my practice in it's current direction of relational therapy.
I am lucky enough now to live in the Highlands of Scotland, dividing my time between my two great passions, working with horses and supporting people to make positive changes in their lives and relationships
I've benefitted from counselling myself and seen it benefit others. I am a firm believer in the power of counselling to change the way we relate to things and thereby have a positive impact on how we experience our lives. I have always been aware however of the considerable financial commitment counselling represents. I believe it is a worthwhile investment but not one that is affordable for everyone. It is my aim with this website, not just to represent my counselling practice, but also to take the knowledge gained over the last decade or so and create resources that may be of benefit for anyone who is not currently in a position to start therapy.
I don't yet know exactly what form this new project will take but please do check back from time to time for updates. and if you'd like to book an appointment for counselling or therapeutic coaching please do get in touch,
Kind Regards,
Tina
